- A. Our SYNC Mobile Application API's allows mobile application developers to integrate their mobile applications into SYNC-equipped vehicles. Please visit our About Page for more details about our APIs.
- Q. How can I work with Ford to develop a mobile application or submit an idea?
- A. Ford is excited to innovate with the developer community. If you have an existing mobile application, or have an idea for an application you'd like to develop, please use our ideas website, www.fordnewideas.com and click on the Submit an Idea link. We continuously review these ideas and are dedicated to working with anyone who has promising ideas and/or apps. If you're not ready to submit your idea, provide your contact information using the subscribe page. We'll be better able to keep you up to date as information becomes available.
- Q. If I develop my application to work with SYNC, how would it be distributed?
- A. We intend for application developers to distribute their "SYNC-enabled" applications through regular distribution channels, like existing app stores. Developers are free to distribute their applications through those channels, or by other means. We may also feature a list of "SYNC-enabled" applications on any appropriate Ford websites.
- Q. What do I have to know to get started?
- A. You will have to know how to develop on a supported phone platform and how to interact with SYNC (the API). Ford will help those with promising applications get started by providing the necessary tools, documentation and guidance.
